What to expect

Birth photography will take place at the location of your choosing.  I love at home births, but also am happy to photograph hospital births (and even cesarean sections, if the location permits).  We will meet before you book with me to get to know one another as well as to discuss your preferences.  It is my belief that this is YOUR special moment, so we will discuss what details you would like photographed, if you would prefer natural light or flash, and more.  

Child/Family sessions:

This is not a ‘sit here and smile’ photography studio.  Expect fun.  Expect silly.  You will never hear me SAY to smile, instead I will talk with, joke, tease or just play with your child to get that natural smile that makes your heart melt every time you look at it. 

To help put your child at ease I offer a few different types of sessions.  Studio sessions take place for specials, location will be announced (usually Alamogordo) which parents and children love.   Kids are naturally curious about my studio lighting, backdrops, etc, which I am happy to talk with them about it or show them my camera (I’ve even been known to let them push a button or two). 

I also offer on location services.  I can recommend some beautiful local areas for a nature feel, or can do a lifestyle session in the comfort of your own home.  What I love about lifestyle sessions is your home is also captured in your portraits, which adds so much emotional value years down the line!  Imagine looking at the images of your precious newborn baby, but in their nursery surrounded by cute butterflies or zoo animal decor… Now imagine looking at those images when that little baby is now grown into a teenager with band posters covering their walls and messy floors. 

All sessions include a free consultation prior to your session where we can discuss locations, clothing choices, ideas, and anything else I can do to make your session perfect for YOU.  Your viewing session will take place about 2 weeks after your session.  My clients love being able to see their images in full (no squinting to see tiny images on a computer screen!) and my no pressure ordering system where I help you with your favorite image selection and narrowing down the choices to fit your needs and budget.

What areas are covered?  In general it’s Eielson, North Pole, Fort Wainwright and Fairbanks – anywhere within 30 minutes of Eielson AFB with no travel fee!
